TRIUMPH – Triple Pill vs Usual Care Management for Patients with Mild-to-Moderate Hypertension
Conducted exclusively in Sri Lanka in collaboration with The George Institute for Global Health.
Effective recruitment procedures, and a team committed to excellent data collection and minimising loss of follow up data, were key strengths of the partnership and critical factors in the successful completion of the study.
The study results were published in JAMA in August 2018.
COBRA – BPS – Control of Blood Pressure and Risk Attenuation – Bangladesh, Pakistan & Sri LankaConducted in collaboration with Duke-NUS. A community-based, stratified, cluster randomised, controlled trial was conducted over two years to evaluate the effectiveness of a scalable, multicomponent intervention (MCI) designed specifically for hypertension management in rural areas delivered by government community healthcare workers in addition to usual care. The study results were published in American Journal of Hypertension in 2018 and NEJM in 2020.
